http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26908613 Except that's not the issue it used to be - you only have to look online to see that. Even when there are deals like that it's more for snacks! |

I've actually had that conversation with till staff.. "You know this is on a two for one, yeah?" "Yeah, I only need one." "Well why don't you get it anyway..." The supermarkets near me these days all have 'donation bins' where you drop stuff in packets or tins that go to food banks or the like. These days if there's something I'm buying on a BOGOF, I'll tend to drop the 'spare one' in there. |

I've had a similar conversation over books where there was absolutely nothing else in that section I wanted, could give away or even sell! |

We rarely buy any of those deals, only what we need. But when what we need is on offer, then we buy it in bulk. For example last time out coffee brand was on offer, we bought about 10Kg, which was enough for about a year. Now we are looking for it to be on offer again, as we only have about 1Kg left. |

I bulk-buy too, especially with shaving items. |

All my stuff's on the floor! It wouldn't have to be if women didn't need tens of shampoo and conditioner bottles ![]() |

Typically only buy it if I'll use it or it's non perishable, most of the stuff we get that is on the offer goes in the fridge then gets blitzed out every so often to make some more room I'll sooner buy stuff like reduced meat for this reason, last week I ended up picking up 4 smallish (6oz) wagyu beef steaks (2 ribeye, 2 sirloin) for £5, ended up using them in stir fries as an accompanyment which was very good ![]() |

Yay, our coffee (Dallmayr Prodomo) is on offer, 3.79 instead of 5.99 for half a Kilo. Bought 6Kg Monday night, might buy another tray this week. |

We tend to use CostCo for bulk buying - although the issue is often storage |

Having lived with two sisters, I can sympathise. This weekend I decided to clear the stuff that was on the bathroom window ledge. Anything that looked like it hadn't been used for over a year got chucked. What does help is I bought a corner tray type thing. It's three wireframe triangular shelves that are attached to a spring loaded pole. It sits in the corner of the bathroom and the tension in the spring keeps the top against the ceiling and the bottom against the floor. It's slightly starting to corrode but has done a great job of storing stuff. |
