all religious education in public funded schools should be banned only a totally and completely funded private school should be allow to indoctrinate RE
no public funding of any type, in any way, in any shape, or any form should be allowed for 'private' schools which practice any type of RE
most places of 'so called' worship would make very good land available for cost effective housing ...

Trojan Horse probe headed by ex-Met chief Peter Clarke http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bi ... m-270319411. You shouldn't put an ex-Met man in charge of anything, never mind an inquiry. 2. His former job makes his new appointment a political football before it's even began

As long as there is no worship involved then I have no problem with RE in school. In fact I think it would be wise to teach kids about as many religions as possible, especially to include religions that have multiple gods.

Surely by not teaching kids about the world's religions, you're making them ignorant? Whilst most people on here might be atheists, there are whole civilizations out there that base their lives around their religion and culture, and contrary to popular belief, they're not all murderous barbarians who want to kill anybody who opposes their view. If anything, you should teach kids about religion and world culture in order that they might better understand their fellow man.

Religion is part of history, it's influenced culture, art and borders. Maybe teach it as part of the history programme?

I think contemporary religion and culture should be separate from history and historical culture.

I like the idea of showing that religions are leftover anachronistic details which shouldn't be.
