New Vulnerability Found in Every Single Version of Internet Explorer"According to a confirmation by Microsoft late last night, a new zero day vulnerability has been found to affect every version of Internet Explorer. In other words—over a quarter of the entire browser market." That's nice. (8+| Mark

That is every version of IE, going back to 6, not just 9, 10 and 11 - those are just the supported versions, that will get a fix; XP owners, restricted to IE6, 7 and 8 will be on their own, unless they are part of a large organisation, such as HMG, that pays for XP support.

Guess they don't want to alienate a large customer base that still uses XP.

If they're still using XP, could they reasonably be called a customer?

So. XP is patched after it's EOL date. Does this mean that it will be patched for the next vulnerability, and the one after that?

Potential customer. When they do upgrade they could always turn to Apple and buy a mac. Besides, if they're using IE, they're probably they type of person that uses dafault settings for everything. IE defaults to Bing and that makes advert revenue for MS.

They did the same for NT4, after it went EOL. There was a zero day just after it was retired, so they did release an emergency patch for it. But that was a one off, after that NT4 didn't get any further patches.
