haven't got a problem with that as being sent to prison is the punishment not being, in any way shape or form, punished while in prison
when sentenced to prison all normal rights are removed (rightly so) but if you work or are forced to work within prison then minimum working rights must apply ...

I'm all for the minimum working rights in the sense of H&S and general treatment and conditions etc, but a minimum wage and a pension cos you were stupid enough to wind up in prison and forced to work? Nah. I see it as an education on different levels until it gets to the stage where some large corporation's making a fortune for example, that's different.
