believe me at the minute i am personally very thankful that we have a NHS and i am not going to explain why
but the abuse of the NHS from within (excessive management roles) and from without (health tourists) has to stop ...
Impossible lies. I remember quite clearly that Thatcher destroyed the NHS. Then I remember that the bloke who came after her and tucked his vest into his pants also destroyed the NHS. Then there was a guy who smiled a lot, he destroyed the NHS. And now there is some other bloke, he has destroyed, and soon will destroy, the NHS.
In the future, Godzilla and Cthullu will destroy the NHS.
And some time after that, the Tories will destroy the NHS.
It's just the standard slander of UK politics. Whoever we don't like, is always on the verge of destroying the NHS. We don't like some change to prescriptions for Aspirin, "that [LIFTED] is destroying the NHS". It's a tired old trope.
The NHS is a universal health insurance plan which doles out healthcare money via a single-payer system. The attached bureaucracy and the delivery of services are details that can and should be subject to change. The universality of insurance and the single-payer aspect are the bits that can't, shan't, and won't by politicians of any stripe.
All these eulogies and proclamations have been swirling around since the inception of the NHS and will never go away, but they are lies.
