How long before the terrorists say '[LIFTED] it, lets just blow up the airport just before the security section'?
It would still cause panic and be impossible to stop, assuming the intelligence services didn't know about it in advance.
The July 7th bombings showed that there's ways to cause terror without every going through a security check point.
