The biggest problem with the UK's membership is that they don't use the benefits they could get, instead the politicians go on about what a bad deal they get and wait for their refund at the end of the year.
Road mprovements? Na, let Ireland get that.
Farmer subsidies? Na, let the Germans and French get that.
Big fat refund, because you didn't help you population? Yep, we'll take that.
