there's a very good article, it was the Indy i think, about why Boris Johnson is the most dangerous politician in Britain and he plays the media very very well. He is not the blubbering baffoon he wants us to believe, and he has all the media reporting on him through his clever mix of political actions and baffonneries. People will elect him because he is a "laugh" and not because of any positionshe holds. |

Totally agree. You don’t get to the top of the greasy pole without being (politically) very clever Boris (the fact that most people can name him and use just his 1st name is telling – how many other politicians can you say that of – its David Cameron/Ed Miliband etc – the closest was Ken but more often than not it was Ken Livingston (or Red Ken)) can get away with things that no other politician can and if very good at playing enough of the fool for people to think ”He is one of us” Whether you agree with his politics or not he is one of the most consummate politicians of today |

I think people will elect him because he appears to have a personality, which puts him one rung further up the ladder than just about anyone else (on either side of the Commons). I'm not suggesting it will make him better alternative to the dross we have to put up with currently, but people can only take so much grey. |
