I'm staggered people aren't using pass codes on their phones. Surely it's the first thing you'd set up?
Anyone here not using one?

I have a pin for the sim when I turn the phone on and a pin to unlock the phone if the screen has been off more than five minutes. I've also got it set up so Google can lock and wipe it remotely if it's stolen.

They clearly aren't otherwise it wouldn't be an issue. I don't know anyone who has entered a pin number or anything since you had to buy those scratchcards to top up your phone   _________________Plain English advice on everything money, purchase and service related:

Nobody I know bothers! A lot of people don't know or care enough to turn off keystones ffs... It's a security nightmare, but until something comes along that is reasonably unobtrusive for the user and actually gains traction, most people will remain ignorant. _________________Plain English advice on everything money, purchase and service related:

Requirement here for company phones. I also have it on my private phone. Fiance and her daughters also have them- not my idea, they did it without being told that it would be a good idea.

Since iOS 7 rolled out, setting up a passcode has been a part of the installation process, AFAIK.

Yes, if and only if you have an iCloud account. If you don't set one up at first it doesn't ask iirc.

I have my pass code set up to activate every time I lock the phone. It's something I've always set on every phone from my first 3330.

Sometimes having a password makes no difference. Not looking at anyone in particular  Anyway what's the point of having ICE contacts if all phones are locked? Mine is locked due to work requirements _________________Still the official cheeky one
