http://news.sky.com/story/1329628/us-vo ... amic-state You have to wonder does he mean 'deplete' or something similar, or if he thought 'degrade' would sound good to the voters. It won't play as well in the rest of the world I suspect. |

Maybe he means “degrade” as in “a broken escalator degrades into a staircase”.
