Roman jewellery described as being of "national importance" has been discovered during excavations at an Essex department store.

Gold and silver armlets, bracelets, rings and coins were found buried in the remains of a Roman house beneath Williams and Griffin in Colchester.

You pretty much can’t dig a hole in Colchester without hitting the Boudicca Destruction Horizon* and finding Roman stuff.

This is a genuine term, used to describe a feature consisting of ash and burned wreckage from the time when Colchester was burned to the ground during the Iceni revolt. There is something similar in London.
