That's a finger in the eye of the naysayers.

I've already seen TV ads where they're given as gifts etc. Were these operating in a grey area at the time?

What's the point of advertising if it's not 'in a positive light'?

How? It’s only a matter of time before one of the advertisers sneaks in one, it gets transmitted and then gets told not to show that advert again with the device in view. What this does is control the presentation of the device, and ensures that it’s presentation is regulated.

There are strict rules on alcohol advertising, and there were on cigarettes before advertising tobacco products was banned.

Basically, show people having fun, connect somehow with the product, but don’t make direct claims that your life will suddenly become awesome because you‘ve got a little nebuliser* in your mouth.

[*It struck me the other day that there would probably be pretty good as asthma medicine delivery systems. Nebulisers are pretty big things, but they do exactly what e-cigarettes do - turn the drug into a vapour to make it easier to inhale and be absorbed by the lungs.]

Interesting that - I wonder if it could give a very low dose of the drug so you wouldn't get an attack - rather than using the inhaler when you have at attack - It could be a low dose as you would be "smoking" 20 a day

I have no idea if this is a total no go as have zero medical knowledge

OK, so all we need to do is find a half African, half Chinese, half Asian, gay, one eyed, wheelchair bound dwarf with tourettes and a lisp, and a st st stutter and we could make the best panel show ever.

I have a preventer inhaler, which is designed to stop attacks before they happen. The preventer is usually one dose a day - but I can increase that if I find it’s not working (e.g. if I get a cold and it affects my breathing).

The reliever is normally taken during an attack or, at times, before doing something which may trigger one. This is the kind of drug normally administered in a nebuliser.

Given that all the inhalers are now sealed units, the amount of plastic wastage is massive - when the inhaler is empty, I have to dispose of the whole thing (compare that with the small metal foil discs I used to put in the recycling, and keep the inhaler for the next one). I’d be quite happy with an e-cig type device - the wastage from one of those on what is in daily use would be far lower. I should write to Astra Zeneca & Allen and Hanbury.
