http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-29482160He may be on to something much bigger than that headline; there's no doubt the likes of Gove have tried to stamp their own personal views on education  , but teachers seem so demoralised at this point that telling them they need to take an oath will look like just another kick in the balls.

 Given that most uk doctors haven't taken an oath like this In the last 30 years (anecdotal evidence), there's not much point for teachers. Whatsoever house I may enter, my visit shall be for the convenience and advantage of the patient; and I will willingly refrain from doing any injury or wrong from falsehood, and (in an especial manner) from acts of an amorous nature, whatever may be the rank of those who it may be my duty to cure, whether mistress or servant, bond or free.
Whatever, in the course of my practice, I may see or hear (even when not invited), whatever I may happen to obtain knowledge of, if it be not proper to repeat it, I will keep sacred and secret within my own breast.
If I faithfully observe this oath, may I thrive and prosper in my fortune and profession, and live in the estimation of posterity; or on breach thereof, may the reverse be my fate![4]

I don't see unqualified members of he public telling a brain surgeon how to do his job, yet it seems open season when it comes to teachers. Everyone is an expert. If you want teaching to be a respected profession, then the first thing to do is to stop with the meddling and let them do their jobs. Stop piling paperwork on top of paperwork. Actually let the teachers breathe and flourish instead of suffocating them.

Also, give teachers the support they need, when dealing with kids who show them no respect and have no fear of the repercussions of their actions, which at the moment are non existent, just like the teachers powers
