UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage has been invited to take part in a TV debate with David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg ahead of next year's general election.

The BBC, ITV, Sky and Channel 4 have announced plans to hold three debates.

Of the three leaders, he works on screen the best. He’s your regular freak-who barker - give him a cane and a boater. I don’t agree with what he says, but he’s the politician who is “best at TV” pout of the current crop.

I imagine the three main party leaders having discussions about how they can bury this clown in a debate.

Also - given the Greens have had an MP for much longer than UKIP (and remember, the people in Clacton voted for the SAME PERSON as they had before) - why aren’t they invited? They’ve at least had someone representing them in the Houses of Parliament for much longer.

I know who I am not voting fore at next elections, but I can't decide who to vote for.
Tories are selling off any valuable assets, Labour are just confused. Is there a credible 3rd option out there?

It's not about representation, it's about ratings. There's the standing joke about UKIP that they would regularly be on Question Time despite not having any MPs at the time, whereas there were other parties who did have MPs who almost never got on (e.g. Greens and the Irish parties, who only ever got on when QT bothered to go over to Belfast).

The TV debates are a gross joke upon the electoral process. A carnival show.

Not really. Not any more.

Tories - Clamping down on rediculously high benefits = good, catching loads of genuine poor people in the crossfire and ruining the NHS = bad.
Labour - Getting more left wing. Unviable economic policies that are based on idealism rather than practicality. Leader has negative amounts of charisma even by the standard of politicians.
Lib Dem - No one will believe a word they say any more.
UKIP - One popular policy - ruined by having a load of nutters with insane opinions and other policies.
Greens - would send us back to the middle ages overnight?
BNP - Racist [LIFTED] who would cause way more problems than there are now.

Anyone else except local parties that I've missed?

The only party that makes sense - Monster Raving Loony Party. At the last election they promised free beer...what more can you ask for

Someone did point out that UKIP's party colours are actually the same as 'The Standing At The Back Dressing Stupidly and Being Stupid' party from Dish & Dishonesty

Cameron will try to ‘mess up’ TV debates by including Greens
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/201 ... rd-ashdown

Whether he likes it or not, the Greens technically have more right to be there than UKIP. And he's kidding himself if he thinks Clegg's problems are solely down to the right-wing press. Clegg's the face of a party that's backed the Tories almost to the hilt.
