They did wrong, so they deserve punishment. Being too drunk isn't an excuse, it isn't an excuse when you drive a car and it isn't an excuse when you surf the web. What I do find wrong is the way the names of suspects are given to the press, before they are charged or convicted. The problem is, those arrested for an offence are put on the front page, if they are then let off, because of a lack of evidence, or the real culprit is found, the damage has already been done. You are innocent, but people only remember you were arrested for an offence. |
