The incompetence of the leading parties in some EU countries and the economic situation means it isn't only the UK considering it's politics on movement rules and immigration. It might be a summoned-up ghost, but it's currently haunting the wider EU...

It does work both ways. It means that Brits can follow opportunities in other EU countries as well. And it isn't only the UK that has immigrant problems. Germany and other member states have them as well.

Of course rules can be changed. That's how a democracy works. If laws aren't fit for purpose, they can be altered.

Democracy in the EU's case is not in Cameron's favour. Turkeys voting for etc... (although not actually Turkey, obviously. As far as I'm aware)

Very true. Theoretically, it can be changed. Practically, it's probably never going to be, at least in terms of making it more restrictive.
