More than 60% of Twitter users stop using the free social-networking site a month after joining, according to figures from Nielsen Online. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/252133/six-out-of-ten-twitter-users-quit-within-a-month.html

I see that with my followers (this is making me sound needlessly messianic - sorry). A lot of people join to spam or post Tweets along the lines of “OMG I got my Ipod free find how how”. They either vanish, or get kicked off by Twitter.
There is also a fake perception that you have to post every minute of every day. You don’t, though at times my tweets lapse into a kind of narrative or are linked by a theme and can happen rather quickly. Some may remember the Daleks.
The pressure to tweet relentlessly is self-imposed. Once you have realised that you don’t have to, it’s quite fun. I must admit to using my iPhone to Tweet, send pictures and even AudioBoo updates from time to time.

I never saw the point in even signing up. If I want to text stuff to people, I text them!!

Personally I think that twitter is (waiiit for it) for "twits" but then I'm sure the feeling is mutual. Do I care, nope! Twitter takes blogging to its illogical conclusion.
Like Punk music there are some diamonds in the dross, but personally I just can't be bothered!

That's because it is cack, but it isn't blocked by my work's firewall so I can update my facebook status with it!

We've unoffically started to use [url=http://www.yammer.com[/url], it's like Twitter but for work. It's kind of useful, but I think it'd be easy to have too much of a good thing.
