How did they work this out I wonder? I couldn't watch a half hour show on my laptop never mind my tablet; a decent-sized screen is cheap as chips and better for all sorts of reasons IMO. I can understand if you're out and about or sat in work though.

Yeah, I've had catch-up and streaming options for a couple of years now, but I never used them until I got my Amazon FireTV, because they were too much hassle to bring the PC out of the cellar and plug it into the TV to watch the shows...

You only need a big screen if you are going to stick it on the other side of the room and watch the programmes with other people present. For me a 15" laptop a couple of feet away with the audio going through a decent pair of headphones is a far superior user experience to a big screen in a family room with all the distractions going on around it.

We don't have a TV as in a physical box at our house

We have a media PC with dual Freeview HD tuners in it connected to a 30" Apple Cinema Display. It does all the same things but isn't technically a TV.

We have a Panasonic Viera with triple tuner. We also have a Viera BD player and the FireTV.
