I couldn't watch a half hour show on my laptop never mind my tablet; a decent-sized screen is cheap as chips and better for all sorts of reasons IMO. I can understand if you're out and about or sat in work though. |

Yeah, I've had catch-up and streaming options for a couple of years now, but I never used them until I got my Amazon FireTV, because they were too much hassle to bring the PC out of the cellar and plug it into the TV to watch the shows... |

You only need a big screen if you are going to stick it on the other side of the room and watch the programmes with other people present. For me a 15" laptop a couple of feet away with the audio going through a decent pair of headphones is a far superior user experience to a big screen in a family room with all the distractions going on around it. |

We don't have a TV as in a physical box at our house We have a media PC with dual Freeview HD tuners in it connected to a 30" Apple Cinema Display. It does all the same things but isn't technically a TV. |

We have a Panasonic Viera with triple tuner. We also have a Viera BD player and the FireTV. |
