Surely there's a way of shielding servers by authentication or something at this point? :?

First of all though I'd like these d1ckheads treated like they were North Korea by the authorities.

Effing norah, first world problems. You can still play games on the damn things, just some bits of those games won't work. If that 'ruined Christmas' for you, you're a [LIFTED].

Thing is, all your Plus games won't work, some games won't play nice without a patch because they were sold broken, and you'll have intermittent problems at the very least with subscription services of every description. I had to fully reboot the PS4 tonight just because I dared to use an app I pay for and it wanted to connect to PSN. To a brand new owner, it would have looked like they'd bought an expensive brick the fixing process is so arcane.

Meh. Just seen some whiney knob on the news who knows the sum of sweet feck about network resilience or security saying 'they should fix it' like its swapping a fuse. Yes, there are issues and some games won't work. But the vast majority of games will still work and the idea the consoles are 'unusable' is simply wrong.

This was like first or second news item in the news tonight. Before citylink going bust which will cost thousands of people their jobs and an airport being shut by bad weather which will keep gods knows how many from seeing their loved ones. Some sodding perspective is required.

They're right that MS and Sony won't spend the money and don't actually deserve their customers, but messing up Xmas and services people pay for isn't on.
