Religion is completely irrelevant in the modern world. It is a relic of ancient times when people used "god" as an answer to things we now understand. The sooner it is wiped off the face of the planet the better. I don't care which "god" you believe in. In 2015 it is a complete farce to pretend that some higher being exists. Ffs why do people continue to be so f*cking stupid. |

I think for many it's an easy answer to 'enlightenment' or just wanting to be/feel part of something. I can't see that it's ever did anything but hold us back though. |

I agree completely, but it's so embedded and twisted by so many that it continues to be an excuse for sliding backwards in every area we've made progress in. And I include some governments in that. |

+1. Fog, just because you don't believe in a deity doesn't mean everyone else is wrong or shouldn't be allowed to believe in deities. That's just as narrow-minded as those who believe only their deity/belief/way of life is the right one. I've long held the belief that even if you eradicated religion, there would still be wars, senseless killings, attacks on innocent civilians etc. So long as there is more than one human on the planet there will always be a difference of opinion and hence the potential for arguments, verbal fights which could escalate into the physical. |
