Zane Lowe Quits Radio 1 to work for Apple

Yeah, I wondered too. Maybe they're branching out into live streams - an actual DJ who apparently knows his stuff will increase sales and column inches I expect. Get him doing a podcast and interviews and so on.

Zane's a smart chap. He's always got an eye on the next step, and I'd be surprised if this wasn't vastly lucrative for him. He's far more than a bloke who does a bit of talking on the radio.

I used to love Zane's album specials. He'd interview the band a people about an album and the. Play the full album with no interruptions.

I must assume this is either to do with their purported streaming music service (see aquisition of Beats) or they also do iTunes radio in the US and Australia apparently.

Mondays are the only nights I usually hear any Zane Lowe due to doing the weekly shopping after work. Any other day fo the week and there would have had to have been a massive pileup on the A1(M).
