Blame Isaac Newton. If you're pushing a physical object out the front of something, you're going to get a kick back. Nerf guns use compressed air rather than combustible propellant, but the principles of a nerf gun are exactly the same as an actually gun in general (some of them use electrically powered wheels to 'throw' the round out the barrel, they have no recoil because circular momentum).

Nerf guns aren't educational but then not all toys are. I'm not personally aware of any studies that suggest having toy guns as a child makes you more or less likely to go on a gun rampage as an adult, but given Nerf guns are freely available in large parts of Europe which doesn't have gun rampages, I'm going to say off the top of my head there's probably no causal link. Or at least if there is it's massively washed out by those countries having half-sensible rules on actual guns.

You know what worries me far more than Nerf guns being available in the UK? Greater Manchester Police had sniper teams on rooftops to 'observe' the anti-austerity demo in Manchester this weekend. I don't care who has them, pointing real guns at innocent people is not big and not clever.

Issue sorted.

Good old Trump, the reverse barometer of common sense.

A friend in rural Idaho just posted a shot of his 'working from home' set up.
We're looking out a forest.
His laptop is set up, a cold glass of iced tea next to it. It's a beautiful big blue sky sort of day. There's a candle for the evening.
And a .45 long colt revolver in a holster.
WTF.
The nearest person (excluding family members) is probably on the next ranch.
I guess the deer and turkey must be really aggressive.

I think the whole of Canada would probably object to being included in that category.

It has gone beyond satire now.

How can anyone be so f*cking stupid to not realise that guns are causing these gun deaths?!

When will all the [LIFTED] stupid Muricans decide that enough is enough?

Pro life. Pro second amendment. Pro gun death. Pro mass shootings.

It's f*cking stupid.

And this one over the weekend.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... in-US.html

I was having a discussion with a colleague who is American about the good old second amendment, during which time he declared me to be more of an expert on it than most of his American friends. Hmm.

First off, the second amendment does now specifically say “guns” - it says “arms” which could mean guns, but equally knives, farm equipment, basically anything you could get a good swing with. It‘s basically an arms race. He says that if the police are allowed assault rifles, then the public feel they are allowed them too. Remember, this is all about forming a militia with the aim of defending the people from a corrupt or tyrannical government hell bent on oppressing the population and taking away their various freedoms. The police could well be a tool in that oppression.

So, basically, feel free to leave your guns lying around where kids can get hold of them because GUNS!! :?

In a statement on Monday, Rock Hill Police spokesperson Capt. Mark Bollinger said that the child was not in a car seat at the time of the shooting, enabling him to reach the .357 revolver.

“We’re still trying to figure out how the child pulled the trigger,” he said. “We’re encouraging folks as always, keep your weapons secured, especially around small children.”

I mean if he's a captain...

Three-year-old Chicago boy accidentally shot dead by six-year-old brother | US news | The Guardian

I remember an episode of The Word where Ice T showed a presenter round his house. Right outside the kids bedroom on a shelf was a laser-sighted MP5 amongst other weapons. He lived in an LA mansion.
