Unarmed black care worker Charles Kinsey shot by US police while calming autistic patient | Americas | News | The Independent
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 48216.html

Incredibly there are people where I work who would still seek to defend American cops after all the recent incidents across multiple states. Still not accepting that there is something seriously wrong with American policing when restrained/unarmed/vulnerable people are being assaulted/shot/killed on a daily basis, often in broad daylight.

'Why did you shoot me?"
'I don't know!'

What the absolute wailing [LIFTED]? How in any reasoning society are people like this handed authority and a firearm?

Black woman shot dead by police during alleged standoff while holding son | US news | The Guardian

She sounds like a genius. Though shooting her while she's holding her son is obviously 'troubling'.

TBH, this is one case where I can't really see any way to make a big issue of what the police did, given the fact that police in the US are routinely armed. if you point a shotgun at a policeman in the US you can't really expect them not to respond with force. The fact is if you pointed a shotgun at a policeman in the UK in a standoff situation there'd be ARU officers there pretty damn quickly and you'd be very lucky to come out of it alive.

Sounds like the woman may have had psychological issues from the backstory. It's incredibly sad that she lost her life.

Police will be required to report officer-involved deaths under new US system | US news | The Guardian
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... of-justice

A good sign at least, especially in combination with the fact they bother to send the officers to trial these days. But it'll take years before the courts have the balls to start convicting the fcukers, almost setting a precedent.

Florida officer who killed woman during demonstration has checkered record | US news | The Guardian

Even by US standards Florida is going some in pointless gun deaths these last two months.

Normally, I'd be on your side, but experience suggests the world contains an innumerable amount of idiots.
