They launch new health and science initiatives every year. If you only register such facts in the run up to an election, sadly this particular research is coming too late for you.

This is an election promise and hence means it won't come to fruition until towards the end of term at which point it will be a limp useless thing. The other thing they promise is faster assessments and diagnosis by GPs. Except GPs don't make the diagnosis. We do the assessment and then refer to secondary care. The specialists make the diagnosis. The problem is that the Govt has pared down the NHS and mental health in particular that it's impossible to be seen so quickly. Most of my patients are waiting 3-4 months to be seen, either for diagnosis or review.
