So, I take my fully functioning, good-as-new, 2 grand 32" WEGA TV to a stockist they'll give me 150 quid for it, against a Bravia, which probably won't do SD as many favours as the old WEGA? Hmm, I'll wait until HD freeview satellite comes along... (Plus I'd need to spend another couple of hundred on a new DVB-S2 receiver)

Sounds ok, considering TV's, especially CRT's are worth naff-all 2nd hand and cost more to run than a new LCD or even LED TV.

No Dave, you wouldn't. Surely you know that, so why even ask?! I might trade in my [LIFTED] old 14" portable though. It's not worth anything, so if Comet will take it against something suitable for my bedroom, then I may come away with a very nice deal. It will also save me having to recycle the darned thing.

I only ever have one TV at a time, never had one in the bedroom, kitchen etc. The living room is the place for the TV and that is where it is.
Interestingly, my girlfriend and I are planning to move together next year and that will be the first time either of us have had more than one TV in the house! She has a 2 year old LCD HD TV and has told me that it will go in another room, my Sony WEGA CRT will go in the living room, as it produces a much better picture...
