The beeb website has been heading downhill for a long time.

Written editorial opinion pieces are dying off, replaced by the video clip/sound bite sausage machine. I think the term is "churnalism".

At least on IE 8 (which I'm stuck with at work) the picture looks bloody awful. I suspect it's only loading the lowest quality image in a stack becuase the pictures look fine on my phone (WP8).
Can't blame them for not supporting IE8 I suppose but it makes the site even more of a poor relation to the old one.
