With a bit of luck they would ban football (well most of the players have less intelligence than the horses at the Grand National) as players get serious injuries

Give the ref a pistol with instructions that if someone looks like they have a serious injury, it's up to them to decide whether a mercy killing would be the best option.

Well, they really, really, really shouldn't carry on with a concussion, let alone a fractured skull. It's not 'better' to potentially cripple yourself through misplaced machismo. Footballers are too far one way, a lot of rugby players go too far the other. You need to be committed but sensible.
