I know, I'm hoping that I can build up enough money (I'm not exactly broke now) and effectively get the best of both worlds come mortgage time :)

Am I the only one wondering if I was the stupid one for clearing all my student debts and then saving for a deposit? It seems that people who took on those stupid mortgages have been let off the hook while my savings loose value as inflation's over the interest rate.

The whole idea is that you spend your savings to boost the economy. Now, BUY A NEW COMPUTER! ;)

Oh yes, having your home repossessed and being turfed out on the street is definitely "being let off the hook".

Use your savings to pay a lump sum of your mortgage, perhaps? ;)
