I'm sure I've heard claims of unsinkable ships before...

I'm saving that for building use. it's got a lot of potential!

Apparently the Titanic was never described as being unsinkable.

What happens if you make a submarine out of it?

I suppose their claim will still hold up - a submarine is a boat, not a ship. ;)

Hmmm.

You don't want boats to sail on top of the water, that makes them massively unstable. You could make parts of the boat out of that a stuff to make them light and maybe to make it impossible to capsize them but you still need a keel and a rudder, both of which have to be below the waterline. if you made either of those out of that metal you'd have more problems than not.

And yes I know for example dinghies and rowboats and canoes don't have keels but I'm talking about proper boats with motors and/or sails

It's not a metal

thames sailing barges (and other similar kinds of boat) don't have a keel - they are flat bottomed. They use boards along the side (which kind of look like fins) to add stability. They are sea going vessels too - and are pretty stable.

Hmmm.

Ignoring the fact that the engine, cargo etc would have a much higher density. A holed ship would still sink.
