Good move, but will it work? My understanding is there will be quite a lot of phone variants now for Windows :?

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it with Google/Android - I've owned brand new Acer, Lenovo, and Sony phones and tablets and not one of them has ever received an update from those companies. Cos why would they give a sh1t?

Firmware and drivers will have to come from the handset makers, but the OS updates can come direct from MS.

A great move, if it works.
