Maybe, maybe not.
People with grudges can say anything.
I'm pretty sure the next will take nuclear safety seriously.

I used to work at a nuclear facility in Sydney. Multiple layers of security and you needed your pass for pretty much every door, and I worked in one of the least restrictive areas. If you forgot it, then it was generally less hassle to go home and get it than to organise a temporary one for the day.

All that for 7kg of low enriched uranium in a research reactor. So I would expect a sub with a power reactor and weapons grade material to be a little stricter to be honest.
