They tried that over here - they can't even afford to build the joint training college for ridiculous plans that allegedly include giving fire crews the same PT as police officers. It's just a fantastic way to slash budgets across the three services in one fell swoop while of course enabling the usual dodgy contracts for training, logistics etc. You know, like they already tried with the army and had to scrap.
