Secret Bank of England taskforce investigates financial fallout of Brexit | Business | The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/business/201 ... out-brexit

The real question is, if they're this secretive, how can they or George trust each other? And why should we trust them as a financial regulator if they're lying about a perfectly sensible endeavour when they're supposed to have so much independence now?

Many companies have internal projects that are highly secretive, that look at alternate strategies for the future. As they are only looking at how different strategies would affect the company and they may never be implemented, they are kept tightly under wraps, so that rumours aren't started that could affect moral or affect the company's image. I've work on a few such projects. The problem is if somebody who works on the project feels that the information should be more widely spread, but then they are usually putting their job on the line.

I would frankly have been stunned if they weren't doing this sort of thing.
The headline should really be Bank of England does its job. The leak, if it was accidental in the first place, just shows the bank is doing exactly what its supposed to. The conclusions may make uncomfortable reading for some people but that would be true whatever the research was for.

This. It would be more newsworthy if they weren't doing it.

Can I just say that I already loath the word 'Brexit'.

That's unfortunate as I don't think this'll be the last you hear of it unless you ditch all technology and go live in a cave or emigrate to the other side of the planet.

Eh gad man. Don't go putting things like that out where people can see them. You'll only have yourself to blame if a newspaper picks it up.

It's Nick Robinson and that other gimp from the Beeb who keep attempting metaphors that really frighten me... They make Robert Peston look suave.
