Given that Vodafone is the most complained about mobile service provider, and I frequently hear VM referred to as Vermin Media, I wonder how it'll all turn out.

Is there no hiding from companies you don't want to do business with?

I dropped BT for Vermin Media after the former announced a stipend on landline customers to help pay for their foray into television sport. EE, née Orange, is now being absorbed by BT. Guess whose PAYG service I use…

I don't want to deal with Vodafone, but I like the VM service and options. Where should I head now?

Wasn't all this privatisation and deregulation supposed to give us more choice? It's actually ending up with less, from what I can make out. :|

The opposite being nationalisation where you only have one company providing the service and your choice is take it or leave it.

Tell me about it. I can name any number of companies I've used who were bought out by the decidedly crap...

In some cases, nationalisation works well. I can think of several examples, but as I don't really want to get into that debate right now I shall leave it.

Instead of nationalisation, we've got virtually corporate monopoly in some key industries. I don't think that's any better, to be honest. *shrug*

The long term consequence is different but just as undesirable.
