There had been talk of bringing back the Midland Bank name, but I suspect First Direct is more likely.

First Direct better matches the way things are going in the retail banking sector. People want ' a high street bank' but they don't necessarily want a bank on the high street.

Itr's more likely to be Midland rather than FD. FD was always marketed as a bank with no branches.
