There's almost certainly nothing you can buy off the shelf that's transparent that will also stop a sniper rifle bullet. OK, you could weld metal plate over the windows and have a slot to see through but that would be kind of conspicuous and rather tricky to actually drive.

Plus it doesn't sound like the bloke was actually planning to live through it in any case.
