it's an "industrial gases" factory. I wonder what they will have stolen from there.

a terrorist would not just attack a lone factory in the outskirts surely? And if your aim was a mass explosion, why bother raising a flag?
Attacking a factory that produces gases that can be used as part of something else however ....

Like what? Pressurised gas bottles make for very inefficient bombs, it'd be much easier to rob a couple of tonnes of ammonium nitrate from a local farm.

but managed by a Shia Muslim so there's a lot of reasons for it to be targeted.

With the other attacks that have happened, very likely to be targetting Shia muslims.
