Still, she was six and it was 1933. Mind you, given how their cousins were treated during the Russian Revolution, I can imagine that they may be getting ready to show that they were “on side” should a German invasion succeed (yes, I know there’s a lot of stories about how the royal family were kind of on the German side). Hitler was seen as mildly comic at that time, the full horrors of his rule were not yet known or even realised at that time.
