As far as I'm concerned MP's salary should be tied to rate of inflation increases and certainly not into the top 10% of salaries ( or what ever the actual percentage point is ).

Apparently in future it's going to be set at the average of that year's public sector pay rises. THAT'S going to be interesting for a tory government.

I love the 'if we don't pay good wages we won't get good people doing the job' argument. Mainly because the obvious response is 'does that not apply to teachers and nurses then?'
