Interplanetary travel could be a step closer after scientists confirmed that an electromagnetic propulsion drive, which is fast enough to get to the Moon in four hours, actually works.
The EM Drive was developed by the British inventor Roger Shawyer nearly 15 years ago but was ridiculed at the time as being scientifically impossible.
I hope he took out a Patent

OK, so all we need to do is find a half African, half Chinese, half Asian, gay, one eyed, wheelchair bound dwarf with tourettes and a lisp, and a st st stutter and we could make the best panel show ever.
The drive, which has been likened to Star Trek’s Impulse Drive
Well they obviously haven't been watching Star Trek properly. Impulse engines are effectively fusion powered plasma engines - they are frequently noted as leaving behind an ion trail and other ejecta than can be tracked (see also the torpedo in ST VI that nails the bird of prey - it homed in on the ships impulse engine exhaust).
Still, badly researched reporting aside. This is cool if it does actually work. I look forward to him publishing in a peer reviewed journal.
