Well they obviously haven't been watching Star Trek properly. Impulse engines are effectively fusion powered plasma engines - they are frequently noted as leaving behind an ion trail and other ejecta than can be tracked (see also the torpedo in ST VI that nails the bird of prey - it homed in on the ships impulse engine exhaust). ![]() Still, badly researched reporting aside. This is cool if it does actually work. I look forward to him publishing in a peer reviewed journal. |
