It looks suspiciously like they used the CC instead of the BCC field or clicked on the wrong button in their bulk e-mail client. Doh!

It was a regular newsletter - people get used to routine and can quickly forget the importance/sensitivity of the data they are handling .

With much less seriousness, Tesco have emailed a bunch of their existing customers saying welcome to Tesco... There needs to be better checks and balances when it comes to databases/emails, and clearly nobody is bothering.

I got one of those yesterday and and a follow up apology e-mail today.

I remember getting one of those from a software development outfit who really should have known better. The problem was compounded by the number of people who then hit Reply All to complain about it.
