Cameron bows to pressure to allow more Syrian refugees into Britain | World news | The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/s ... to-britain I love the way we became a moral nation with one photo... But you know, it's ISIS too! George Osborne: criminal gangs ‘killed’ the drowned refugee boy - Spectator Blogs http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/coffeehous ... fugee-boy/ So what about all those people who died before ISIS even existed? Or that you've already had quite a few u-turns in recent years on refugees? Always right around the time The Sun changes tack, funnily enough. Oh, and is there any proof that criminal gangs were involved in those recent deaths? Cos I doubt they were. Or are we still just hopelessly trying to rebrand ISIS by calling them criminals now? |

All those coming in through Hungary at the moment are streaming into Munich. Last week the theme was "light Germany" and "dark Germany", but the unrest seems to have subsided a bit in the last few days. But politicians were making a big deal out of what a disgrace "dark Germany" is for the nation. They are hoping that that will quieten the right wing radicals, at least for a while. Merkel also visited an asylum camp last week and spoke with the refugees, before going to a public discussion in one of the worse affected areas. The government are looking at another 1 billion Euros to help communities cope with the influx. In Berlin there are some 430 additional classes (that is 340 additional classes, not 340 places) for asylum seeker children in the schools, and that is just one city. |

How climate change is actually the root cause of the Syrian refugee crisis |

Not the first time I’ve heard that climate change will cause human migration recently. It’s something that is going to happen as more areas of the planet become unable to support human life. We’ll have to expect more of this in years to come. |

Between 7,000 and 10,000 arrived in Munich yesterday, coming in over Hungary. They just packed them all onto buses and shipped them off to Munich... SEP. |

According the UK news coverage, the majority of them were at Budapest train station and when they were told they couldn't get on the trains to Germany they all simply set off walking to Germany instead. As in thousands of them, for a couple of hundred miles, like a column of soldiers marching. It wouldn't be beyond the bounds of possibility there'd be a significant number of them that wouldn't make it that far so the Hungarians, who presumably don't want people dropping dead in the street, said 'Screw it, if you're going to go there anyway, the humane thing to do is make sure none of you die getting there' and got in a fleet of buses. It wasn't the Hungarians passing a problem on to Germany. The problem was heading Germany's way of it's own choice. The only way to stop it getting there would have been for the Hungarians to try to arrest and imprison a mass of several thousand desperate, homeless people including many women and children. You can imagine how that would have turned out. What the Hungarians did was react in a civilised fashion to what, we can only hope, was an exceptional situation. I'm sure they were also happy the people wanted to move on somewhere else though, it would be naive to deny that. The obvious question is - why is Hungary so much less appealing than Germany that people are willing to walk several hundred miles to get there instead? |

Because Germany registers them all and toured to integrate them. Hungary doesn't want them and won't resister them, arrange to shove them further into Europe, where somebody else will take care of the problem. Luckily for the refugees "light" Germany is winning out against "dark" Germany and all the stops are being pulled out to ensure that they are handled well and volunteers to help them get settled. |
