Government may privatise Channel 4, document reveals | Media | The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/media/2015/s ... up-reveals Oh, dear. I do remember some Channel Four geezers complaining about how the Beeb was stealing their lunch recently - I wonder what they make of this? There won't be any 'switching off the light before you leave' with this government, it'll already have been sold back to China. |

I suspect most people didn't know it wasn't in private hands anyway. ![]() |

Yeah, but that's how the Tories intend to get away with it while still using 'competition' as a stick to beat the BBC with. That their friends at Sky will have less/weakened competition is all just coincidental. The Beeb has been abused by the Tories so long that it won't mention it until the sale's going through, when it could do so legitimately right now. Four's too small of an outfit to put up a proper fight too. It's the usual story of not acting in the public interest for profit, even though public money helps sustain it. Unfortunately it's only our print media who has a set of balls in this country, and they're pissing in the pool too. The public are dumb enough to believe what are essentially Tory rags. |
