Nothing like threatening your own peers when even the main party has serious doubts. It's this sort of crap that will see even more entrenched views when it comes to the EU, further cuts to services, teachers... It'll take time, but I think the Tories will implode Major-style.

So, the government is threatening to curtail the powers of the House of Lords because it is in a position to halt their plans to cut tax credits?

"if you exercise your power to stop these cuts, we'll remove your power to stop these cuts"

WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. F**K?!
