At least they know how to handle it FFS - at this point there's a roll call of company shame just in recent weeks, never mind years. Though that's not to say there shouldn't be questions about how it happened and why it keeps happening!

Because security costs money, and paying money for things reduces profits. No publicly traded company will ever spent a cent more than they think they have to on anything. Someone in Voda IT management assessed the risk of a leak and tailored their security budget according to that. There's no moral aspect to this, it's simply business.

Remember it doesn't matter who you are - customers, employees, whatever. Legally speaking, you're all behind shareholders in the queue for the companies love.

I know, but this is gonna keep happening until customer 'security' is legally enforced to a recognised standard. Though it doesn't help that cyber crime is the policing elephant in the room :roll:

That's not to say I don't understand that there's always a way in, but these companies aren't even securing the property from the outside...
