Vodafone customers' bank details 'accessed in hack', company says | Business | The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/business/201 ... mpany-says At least they know how to handle it FFS - at this point there's a roll call of company shame just in recent weeks, never mind years. Though that's not to say there shouldn't be questions about how it happened and why it keeps happening! |

Because security costs money, and paying money for things reduces profits. No publicly traded company will ever spent a cent more than they think they have to on anything. Someone in Voda IT management assessed the risk of a leak and tailored their security budget according to that. There's no moral aspect to this, it's simply business. Remember it doesn't matter who you are - customers, employees, whatever. Legally speaking, you're all behind shareholders in the queue for the companies love. |

I know, but this is gonna keep happening until customer 'security' is legally enforced to a recognised standard. Though it doesn't help that cyber crime is the policing elephant in the room ![]() That's not to say I don't understand that there's always a way in, but these companies aren't even securing the property from the outside... |
