It would be interesting to see how many of the special offers are really that special... And how they compare to average prices over Europe.

We buy coffee when it on offer, because we can save a couple of Euros per half kilo (1 lb) pack. But generally special offers are rarely on the products we would buy anyway.

They're not special offers. The DFS mentality has bled over into supermarkets - every day is a sale day.

I'm a tight git in the supermarket. I know they are happy to sell that particular cereal at £1.99 for the big box three weeks out of four, so they've sod-all chance of me buying it at £3.99. Copy and paste for half the items on my shopping list.
