Apparently, people have used their "unlimited storage" to backup their whole PC - who would have thought it! Not Microsoft, obviously. Presumably, any files over the limits will be deleted - which is never a good plan for a backup. |

I won't be surprised if this ends up in court. Doing over existing customers is just scummy, MS would need their chequebook out as far as I'm concerned. |

I can't help but think they could have handled this a bit better. You know, by having a fair usage policy or not using the word Unlimited without actually meaning it. Maybe they were getting advice on the meaning of Unlimited from ISP's or OFCOM or something. Don't really have a particular problem with the 1TB of Office 365 storage - it's still very generous and should be more than adequate for the vast majority of users. What does seem particularly scummy is the reductions to the other tiers, especially the free ones. If you couldn't afford to do these you shouldn't have made the promise in the first place or been surprised that people actually used them. |
