Quote:
Commuters on the London Underground are being handed cards telling them they are a "fat, ugly human" by a group that claims to "hate and resent fat people".

NHS worker Kara Florish posted a message on social media after being handed a card while travelling on the Tube on Saturday.

She described the card, which berates overweight people for "wasting NHS money" as "hateful and cowardly".

The "fat" thing, I understand but not everybody is easily able to lose weight. The "ugly" thing - well what do you expect people to do? Go and have plastic surgery?
Not all fat people are costing the NHS money. In fact, the person who is costing us (as a surgery) the most money through frequent A&E attendance is thin.

Some people think fat is ugly by default. It's not fat and ugly.
Worse is, if you smash their face in, you'd be charged for assault when they are being twats. Maybe restrain and call BTP?

You can be fat and fit anyway, or thin and unhealthy. This is more about the personal views of the people handing out the leaflets than it is the size or shape of the people they pick on.

As I understand it, they're shoving them in peoples' hands and legging it just before the doors on the tube close. So they're happy to declare their resentment on a card but don't fancy standing toe to toe with said fatties. What a bunch of heroes.

I have a feeling if they got a slap for their trouble and attempted to get the police involved, a) they'd be laughed at and b) they'd be facing a breach of the peace charge.

The police would know the CPS would never even think of pressing an assault charge under these circumstances. And abusing a stranger in pubic is breach of the peace, no matter the method that abuse is transmitted on.

The whole thing is just so unnecessary and it smacks of petty and mean. Body-shaming people while having no idea of the battles they are fighting and for no reason? It's cowardly and pointless, what is their best possible outcome? Who is actually going to say "Gosh, I didn't realise I was overweight until you pointed it out, so sorry for offending your sensibilities, I'll go lose weight immediately because it's so easy"

If the [LIFTED] try it with me then someone's going to have to come and bail me out.

I'd sell ring side seats, they wouldn't know what hit them. 8-)

Pretty sure if they handed me that I'd punch them in the face.

It's not often we agree but in this instance someone would be going home in a bucket

My mind is clearly in the gutter this morning but think about what you said and remember the second half of your avatar name :)
Totally agree about the punching though.
